Would the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm statute survive the 7th Circuit's New Gun Rights Analysis?

As you probably know, if you regularly read the Library of Defense, the Oregon Supreme Court has Update on the Constitutional Challenge to Possession of a loaded Firearm to a case to determine the constitutionality of a Portland City Ordinance outlawing possession of a loaded firearm.

As yet, the appellate courts have not weighed in on the state statute of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, though a great challenge to that has been writtten, and it's just a matter of time before the courts weigh in.

In the meantime, Judge Posner of the 7th Circuit has written a significant decision tossing an Illinois statute restricting gun rights outside the home. You can read about it here.
