A little nugget in a post at SCOTUSblog today. Regarding today's orders (or lack thereof) from the US Supreme Court, it notes:
In addition, the Court refused to rule on a claim that a jury, not a judge, must find the facts that support transferring the case of a juvenile accused of murder from juvenile to adult court, leading to greater punishment. The case is Villalon v. Indiana (11-1324).
Hadn't heard of this reaching SCOTUS before. When SCOTUSblog posts the petition for cert, I'll post a link to it.
