We have a new Supreme Court Justice; by a vote of 63-37. So sayeth SCOTUSblog, the go-to website for anything Supreme Court related.
Of course, if you've been reading this blog, you would have known since April 9, the day Justice Stevens retired:
Goodbye Justice John Paul Stevens. You've served America well. Hello Justice Elena Kagan.
However, returning to my first point, I only knew she was the prohibitive favorite because I had been reading SCOTUSblog. On February 23rd, well before we knew Stevens would retire, they wrote a blog post with this title:
On October 4, 2010, Elena Kagan Will Ask Her First Question As A Supreme Court Justice (and Justice Ginsburg will look across the bench at her new colleague and smile).
Downright prescient they are.
