If the defendant counts himself among co_Defendants committing one of the requisite felonies, the death of a victim at the hands of a co_Defendant will routinely result in a charge of felony murder. It's about as automatic as it gets. But the Oregon Supreme Court may have suggested a variety of defenses to felony murder. I discuss that possibility here.
